The solution studied responds to the problem of prediction and localization of electrical faults on medium voltage (MV) underground networks by offering customers a diagnostic tool to detect, characterize and locate electrical faults. It will eventually provide preventive maintenance. There is currently no equivalent solution on the market offering such a precise location (1% of the length of the section) operating under tension, and allowing a characterization of all electrical faults before the dismantling of the defective products. These benefits represent a significant economic benefit for utilities.
