Because the large-scale deployment of electric vehicles represents a challenge, the EDEN4SG project aims in this context to develop more efficient decentralized methods of dynamic energy management to ensure the satisfaction of all stakeholders who have potentially contradictory objectives and constraints. Moreover, real-time energy management will require the intensive and widespread use of information and communication technologies. However, the environmental and economic "information cost" could be significant. The first objective of the EDEN4SG project is therefore to develop an efficient decentralized energy management method applicable to heterogeneous fleets of EVs of real size, and driven with varying levels of ICT quality of service. This will feed into the second objective of the project which will be to develop a methodology to evaluate the environmental and economic cost of the smart grid.
