The objective of the ECOSFARM project is to set up a generic numerical simulation tool to evaluate control strategies, for both floating offshore wind farms, floating farms and tidal turbine farms. This tool that adopts a relatively fine description of flow physics and turbines would be used in advanced design phase to verify and refine pre-farm designs established upstream. It will allow, for example, for a given turbines disposal to evaluate and improve the planned control strategies before their integration on real farms at sea, and to confirm the good disposition of the turbines on the implantation site.
