The development of sustainable production and storage of energy is one of the essential links to the energy transition. As such, the development of more efficient batteries is an important element. Active materials in mature battery electrodes are currently inorganic compounds (metal oxides or phosphates), with a recent resurgence around organic materials. In contrast, the organic-inorganic hybrid solids, in particular the porous coordination compounds, which are well known for their adsorption properties and associated applications (capture of carbon dioxide, storage of methane, etc.), have hardly any have been considered for the electrochemical storage of energy.
