The current planar micro-batteries attached over integrated circuits feature a limited energy storage capacity. The ELOGE3D project develops a deposition process of lithium-based inorganic electrolyte enabling the fabrication of 3D-integrated micro-batteries. These novel micro-batteries will eventually have an electrical storage capacity multiplied by 5 to 10 meeting the future need of the electronic micro-systems.
