Fluorescent organic molecules are crucial tools in many areas of science and technology, particularly energy conversion. Despite the great diversity of organic structures described in the literature, the majority of them are affected by many limitations such as stability (photostability, electrostability), solubility in solvents allowing their use in applications and good performance in electronic device. In this context, the objective of the OrgaLight project is to extend the field of applications of a new family of organic fluorophores, recently discovered within ICOA and CBM, which offers a unique combination of physical and spectroscopic properties very promising. More specifically, these molecules have low molecular weights, good solubility in different solvents, good photostability and high solid state fluorescence intensities with excellent quantum yields. These characteristics make it possible to envisage applications in the field of energy conversion, in particular in the technology of organic light-emitting diodes (OLED) and organic photovoltaic converters (OPV, DSSC, Perovskites). The project will eventually develop new organic semiconductor materials that will be evaluated and valued commercially by the company IKAMBA Organics, based in Indre-et-Loire.
