In progress

Today, majority of commercial piezoelectric materials rely heavily on lead-based systems. Although EU laws, through RoHS Directive, currently exemptslead in piezoelectric materials, RoHS committee reviews exemption every 3years. Texturing of piezoelectric materials has been proven to increasematerial's performance. In our prior grant [Grant No E!115130] between NoliacA/S (subsidiary of CTS Corp.) and Entekno Industrial Technological and NanoMaterials Corp., the consortium has developed lead-free textured piezoelectricceramics targeted for consumer electronics applications. For this proposal, updated consortium will develop next generation lead-free texturedpiezoelectric material systems tailored for Ultrasound Imaging and HIFU(High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound) applications.
