To combat global warming and pollution, H2 fuel cell vehicles are developing. The cost of these clean vehicles, with a range of 500 km, refueled in less than 5 minutes in H2 at 700 bar, must be reduced and production rates increased. This is particularly the case of the H2 storage tank. Made of thick composite materials with a thermosetting matrix (usually epoxy), the polymerization time must be greatly reduced. The project proposes to reduce this time by a factor of 10 by developing original and innovative ways to design epoxy type matrices by considering ionic liquids as reagents. In addition, it has been demonstrated that various functionalities and properties can be introduced by these latter compounds (fire, barrier). Designated resins will be used in a second step to manufacture prepregs and reservoirs to test the suitability of adopted approaches.
