The goal of the OralUltraSons Project is to design and produce an intraoral probe for soft tissue exploration (periodontics). It will be based on an innovative ultrasonic, non-ionizing type of approach, which is now possible because of recent advances in the integration and miniaturization of mechanical and electronic components. For this project it will be necessary to use new piezoelectric materials and new methods of manufacturing and production and integration (3D printing of piezoelectric on CMOS). The consortium aims to develop a solution that meets the constraints of very small footprint and cost compatible with the needs of the market to generalize screening and equip the maximum practitioner in Europe and the USA.
