A huge amount of energy used by industrial processes is often wasted although it could be harvested and recovered. The CERES2 project aims at developing a methodology and a software platform where it will become possible to identify the optimal mix of technologies (e.g. inverters, heat pumps) able to transfer energy from a source (e.g. boiler fumes) to a consumption spot (e.g. pre-heating). The project will also rely on the setup of a database gathering the state of the art of industrial processes and the energy harvesting and recovering technologies.
