SDE18 – ENERGY UNION OF CHER

The Syndicat Départemental d'Energie du Cher (SDE 18) is a major player in the energy transition in the Cher département. It advises, carries out works, supports projects and provides financial assistance to local authorities. The SDE 18 is a public body managed by elected representatives. It brings together all the communes and communities of communes in the Cher department (18). Historically, SDE 18 has owned the electricity and gas networks. Its primary mission is to organise the public services for these two sources of energy, which gives it the role of organising and licensing authority. Under concession contracts, it has entrusted the operation of these networks to ENEDIS for electricity and GRDF and ANTARGAZ for gas. Over the years, SDE 18 has pooled its human, technical and financial resources to develop complementary skills (energy management, GIS, public lighting, electric mobility) to provide local authorities with ever-better support in the field of energy.
