The university of Orleans is characterized by its multidisciplinary. It accounts 4 faculties, a university engineering school (Polytech' Orleans), 4 University Institutes of Technology, the Centre Val de Loire IUFM (French School of education) and the Universe Sciences Observatory (OSUC). About 16 000 students, among whom more than 2 000 foreigners, study at the university. The wooded campus of Orleans, a hundred of hectares, is situated at 100 km from Paris, in the capital of the Centre region. The University of Orleans also developed itself on other sites of the region in Bourges, Chartres, Châteauroux / Issoudun and in the IUFM in Blois and Tours. Its international vocation asserts itself year by year. Its capacity of innovation is translated by the dynamism of its research and the technology transfers towards the regional, national and international companies. Its training offer, rich in professional fields, develops in strong link with research. The devices of welcome and help to working integration of students and adults contribute to make of the University of Orleans a major actor of the territorial development.
