DIAMFAB is a deep-tech start-up based in Grenoble. A spin-off from the Institut Néel-CNRS, its technology is based on 30 years of R&D into the growth of high-quality synthetic diamonds for demanding electronic applications. Since its creation in 2019, DIAMFAB's ambition is to bring this know-how to industrial scale to help solve major societal problems. Energy efficiency, electric mobility, the production of green hydrogen, the reduction of carbon footprints and the recycling of nuclear waste are all areas in which our technology can make significant improvements.
Diamfab is developing the technological building blocks needed to make diamond semiconductors an industrial reality. They are focusing on the development of doped layer epitaxy and the design of power electronics components (diodes, transistors and capacitors). They hope to be able to work with the power electronics industry to develop all the building blocks needed to benefit from the extraordinary properties of this material.
