« The S2E2 Cluster enables us to anticipate and stay in the competition. »

« For Legrand, the interest to be an S2E2 partner is the applied research in the medium and long term. Concretely, the 2 research projects in which we currently take part around the static cut and the presence detection are difficult and recurrent subjects on which we have been working for years. Thus, S2E2 provided us the opportunities:

• to find academic and industrial, qualified and complementary partners;
• to work on 2 ambitious projects, of 3 years each, on very highly specialised subjects with industrial outlets: the projects will lead to products having substantial competitive advantages; without, that would have no interest!

However, we would have had to launch these developments. But the S2E2 Cluster enabled us to anticipate and thus, to get out of usual produced flows including external competences. The projects developed within the framework of the S2E2 projects also enabled us to profit from subsidies. Even if they cover only 30% of the expenditures, they are really important. With its contribution, the S2E2 Cluster enables us to stay in the competition. »

« The S2E2 Cluster is a truly important and essential network of know-how in the life of an SME. »

« We participated in the creation of the S2E2 Cluster and in the development with others partners of the first S2E2 projects. Our implication, associated with the synergy created by the partners’ contribution, enabled us to take part in large-scale collaborative projects. We would not have been able to work on these projects on our own.

Today, we can measure the acceleration of our R & D activity, allowed by the subsidies we received in the framework of these collaborative projects in which we take part.

In term of influence, the impact of our participation in the S2E2 Cluster has completely beneficial effects on the perception renowned customers or partners can have about us.

Moreover, the links with S2E2’s members enables us to collaborate on certain topics (exchanges of technical information for example) or to consider commercial partnerships in parallel of R & D activities. Actually, the S2E2 Cluster is a truly important and essential network of know-how in the life of an SME.

To conclude, the international events organised by S2E2 helped us to make contact with potential foreign customers. These actions increase our possibilities to export and enable us to measure the opportunities of international developments. »
