Décember, 16th 2009 OPTIMA, a SES product resulting from a S2E2 R&D project
The cluster S2E2 and the company SES present on December, 16th 2009 OPTIMA, SES product resulting from a collaborative R&D project, labelled by S2E2 and led by SES. Intended for the road signs and the traffic regulation, Optima is the first road sign with variable messages totally autonomous, and innovates by its solar energy supply and its wireless mode of consumption . A innovating product... Optima is a PMV (Panel with Variable Messages) of full way intended to inform the users on their conditions of circulation such as the traffic, weather and of course road network incidents. Generally connected to a total network of information, it is controlled remotely by a system of information managed by the owner of the road network. The main constraints to set up a traditional PMV are the presence of an electrical supply network and of a communication network, for its connection to the information system of the owner. Optima™ relieves these 2 points by :
The permanent use of solar energy is made possible because Optima integrates one completely new design, compared to the architecture of a traditional PMV : intelligent electronic circuits, low consumption LEDs, and an optimized management of the communications The owner becomes free to set upthe PMV at the most relevant places, to inform the users and to increase their safety. The autonomous working of Optima™ decreases the environmental print of the owner by a reduction of its electric consumption and CO2 emissions. Optima™ can be set up on all territories whatever the zone of sunning. This new generation of PMV will also make it possible SES to develop its position on international market of variable indication. … result of a innovating step OPTIMA results from a collaborative development and research project, labelled by the cluster S2E2 and led by the company SES. |
