Following a combined honours in electrotechnical engineering and business management at the IAE in Lille, Didier Bény joined the National Power System Operation Centre at EDF in Paris. Here he held several management positions, notably within the economic studies cluster where he managed Production-transport.
In 1995, he headed to Brittany as director of the Exploitation Transport de Cornouaille Group in Quimper.
With the creation of the RTE*- French Electricity Transport Network -, he was called upon to manage the East Electric System unit in Nancy.
Then in 2003, he returned to western France where he took up the role of representative of that region (Brittany, Pays-de-la-Loire, Poitou-Charentes and Centre). As such, he is the representative for the elected members and decision-makers and represents RTE.
The challenge represented by the development of MRE is a major concern for RTE. The company is keen to contribute to the development of this new industrial network. By virtue of his background, Didier Bény will be in a position to create the necessary emulation for cooperation and thus support the S2E2 cluster in its innovation and economic development approach. Didier Bény is also the administrator of the Ecole Centrale de Nantes as well as a member of the strategic committee of MRE in the Pays de la Loire
