UNIVERSITÉ DE CERGY PONTOISE

The University of Cergy-Pontoise (UCP) was born in July, 1991 to answer a double objective: face the increase of the student population and ease congestion in the Parisian universities. Since its creation, the University of Cergy-Pontoise is a multidisciplinary university, with a complete training offer from the 1st to the 3rd cycle in most of the domains of knowledge and with a recognized potential of scientific research.
Next to the classic programs, the university also set up trainings with professional purpose in with the economic environment.
Conjugate quality research and multidisciplinary research policy, bets the University of Cergy-Pontoise. Researchers' nearness of different disciplines facilitated the emergence of ambitious projects recognized by the international plan.

The research in the UCP is:
• 22 laboratories among which 8 mixed units with the CNRS (National Center for scientific research)
• 500 researchers
• 350 PhD students
• 3 doctoral schools
• More than 60 events, scientific days, congress, conferences… a year
• An Institute of Advanced Studies
The UCP develops a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary research: from human and social sciences to sciences and techniques.
